I've never done it before but I know some people that have and so far everyone I've talked to LOVED IT! Mind you they didn't go by themselves.

I don't know about going by yourself though. It would probably be a lot better if you could find one person to go with you. That's just the way I see it though :) Either way, if you end up going have a blast! :rastasmoke: :rastasmoke: :rastasmoke:

your mom suggested this? give her a BIG hug.

i'd say, do it, by yourself or not (you could always go back home if you get scared/lonely/homesick

i hope to be going to france for my next 2 semesters, it should be a good time

Sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity,,,if you don't you will be saying "What if"... If your parents have deep pockets then maybe you can persuade a friend with a plane ticket...

Europe is safe. Probably safer than america. If your in UK, Germany, France Spain etc then you'll be fine.

Rememeber, not everyone has a gun in europe. So you don't have to worry about that at least

im an '07 aswell. Hostels are great because you'll meet tons of people your age that are at the same stage in life, would probably love to go on excursions with you, and hey im positive youll find plenty of cute guys.

The only thing I might recommend is picking a shorter time like a couple of months and if you like it stay longer, a year is just a long time to be constantly on the move for.

Personally im thinking about moving to New Zealand to try out life somewhere else, im just not ready to decide what profession id like to have for the rest of my life

I ventured to Europe the summer before I went to college, I went with two of my really good friends, none of us wanted to come back by the end of the trip. It was great we spent two weeks in Amsterdam, unbelieveable.

Although I had a great time, I dont know if I would advise going by yourself, it would get kind of lonely. If you are going to visit something, walking around by yourself just isnt fun in a country where you dont know the language or have no knowledge of the place.

What do you mean exactly about not everyone has a gun? Are there a lot of people with guns in europe or is that a stereotype of america in europe? (not trying to sound mean or anything)

i can see how anyone could've taken my comment the wrong way. By no means did i mean that all americans are gun happy and like shooting people. I was just making the plain fact that in a country with easy access to firearms, there is unavoidably a higher level of violent crime involving said firearms. Not a dig at the USA specifically.
