Theres this car man, and it runs on water man!
That '70s show anyone?
I hope they implement this soon, paying for gas blows.
And 4 ounces of water for a 100 mile trip? Thats insane. I'd be drinking more water a day than I would burn in my car in a week!

yup, found out about that a month or 2 ago... pretty sweet
but since it's essentially free, don't plan to see Exxon or Mobil investing in it...

They don't have to invest in it. Even if they don't, you could go into a gas station, buy some bottled water, and fill up your tank.

that's a slick invention, but when it hits the market, figure on paying $20 a gallon for your water :D

umm, either way it's not going mainstream.
and the cost and procedure to allow your car to process it, and the process the water has to go through is a hassle for the average citizen to fulfill your theory of having someone walk into a gas station to run their car with the bottled h20 that came from their store.
it's more realistic that someone would convert their car into being able to run on grease. they can then go get free grease at their local chinese place.

i got a better one for you, how about cars that run on air??
i knew a guy at this entreprenuer course i went on, he was about my age, maybe a bit younger (19-21) and he had designed a car that ran on air, he even had a workin small scale model... if i can remember right the way it worked was you neede to start it up first, by means of a battery and alternator i think, then it would suck in air as it picked up speed, the air would then turn a turbo-like motor which drove the wheels/axels... this was a while ago however so i might not be remembering everything, he just needed cash to get a working full scale car and to patent his designs.
this guy was really smart too, taught himself how to speak japanese, amongst other languages and stuff!
Peace :hippy:

u can do that already, diesel engines were originally designed to run on grease and chip fat and the like
This isn't the first guy to have found a cheap way to separate hydrogen from water in his garage. See this page: Homemade hydrogen (http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Stories/001.1/)
Anyone can do it.
This kind of thing should be common knowledge. Yet, when people hear about it they oooooo and awwwwww like it's a miracle. There is a reason why this isn't developed. Usually the oil companies buy out the inventor, or give him a cushy job or pay him to keep quiet. If that doesn't work then a campaign to discredit him. If that fails then more drastic measures are taken. It happens more often than not.
Unfortunately, not many people have the engineering and mechanical knowledge to build or convert their own engine. Hence, the technology isn't spread around.

i couldn't see the movie, but i imagine his machine needs to hookup to batteries which are powered by power plants which run on coal... so in the end, unless you use wind, hydro, solar, or tidal you are in the end using fossil or nuclear. in fact, gasoline engines are more efficient and less harmful to then environment than the amount of coal a powerplant needs to burn top produce the power to make the gas...
they dont show you how much electricity is required to do this unfortunately.

I predict even more water wastage by America and even less water for the people who need it and can't afford it.
It would be cool driving on water blazing it up though, lol probably get some boat cop on my ass.
