I had to get outta the house tonight, my mum and her friends are having a cooking night, which is just plain hell for me, so i went to uni (university) to work on an assignment, i put some cheech and chong films on my thumbdrive and drove to uni, rolled up a massively phat jointos and hit the IT labs to watch some chong, and maybe even a lil cheech. When i get there i realized one terrible thing, the uni computers dont have real player!!!!! (the films were RMVB's and could not play on windows media player!!!!)

so with that idea a bust i went to the cinemas and watched the turtles, i remembered my childhood love for them and felt compelled to watch

so i went there, saw the preview for the simpsons movie (FUNNY AS!!!!!), then watched the turtles, have a few comments

Firstly, April ONeil, HOT, Sarah Michelle Gellar doing her voice, HOTTER, her in hot outfits that you can easily picture on Sarah Michelle, HOTTEST, the only thing is, isnt she supposed to be a reporter? since when is she this Lara Croft explorer/adventurer chick, who owns a shipping company? and finds ancient artifacts???

Kacey Jones, ROCKIN, but smaller and scrawnier than i expected (even I coulda kicked his arse)

Splinter, on the subject of the Splint man i gotta ask a question to any Asian members on the boards here, and i ask this with all the respect intended, when you see a guy on tv or in a movie, acting like a massive stereotype, how do you feel about it? coz im not sure whether id take it as an insult, or see it as something harmless, so please get back to me on that

The Turtles themselves, in this the title did not disappoint, they were mutants, they were turtles, they knew ninjas and they were indeed teenaged, so yes, i was pleased with all that, but we see leonardo off on his own, and raphael doing the whole Night Watcher thing (how stupid are the other 3 turtles for not instantly realizing it, it could not have been more obvious) and im thinking, there must be some spin off comic books, where leo does his own thing, and a comic where raph does his own thing with donetello and michaelangelo (Kacey, April and Splinter as well) giving some brief cameos, mostly for comic relief, along with another comic about splinter as a kid, see how he turned out the way he is

well thats my rant for the day, sorry guys, was high and had something to say, if you havent been there and dont understand, dont worry you will eventually

I thought the only food good thing about the movie was the turtles, they got them spot on. April O'Neil with an hourglass figure and ninja outfit? That's just plain stupid. They're clearly trying to restart the merchandisng, but I liked the reinvention either way. Shame the fighting was absolute shit.

lol thanks, i had a mad case of the giggling stoner whilst typing that up....

and basher i dont disagree with you, but i liked oneil anyway coz i worship sarah michelle, had no idea she was doin the movie.

as for the fighting, yes it was crap, but so was the fighting in all the other movies and tv shows, thats what makes the turtles what they are, so i liked the crap fighting

i saw this last night and i have a few gripes about it.

i thought the storyline was retarded. we didnt even see any of the classic villians we know and love. it reminded me of the shitty Ninja Turtles 3 movie where they were samurais in japan. and i agree about april: since when did she become an explorer and start fighting??? the animation was OK, but i would have preffered the old school "guys in suits" method but the animation was alright. its like ninja turtles for a new generation: the genaration of kids who cant watch cartoons unless they are CG animated. i cant remember the last time a good movie came out that was actually DRAWN.

but in the end i was entertained. the turtles themselves saved the movie and splinter's wierd ass voice made me laugh. 3 out of 5 stars
