six flags, valencia CA rumors

me and my girlfriend are going here this weekend before they close the park down (theyre said to shut down sometime soon).

anyways i guess the reason theyre shutting down is because local gangs up there are buying year passes and just hanging out everyday harassing people?

my brother was trying to tell me that they cut you in line and if you try to do or say anything they just jump you.

should i be sketched out or what? im not really, im not afraid, just wondering if anyone can concur to these rumors?

we just had our six flags close down last year.... it was the world famous astro world... they made mad money off the park rides and shit they got rid of tho.. some of the coasters, were shipped to other parks, but the rest was just broke down and people were buying anything lol....

maybe six flags is just slowly closing down world wide (not sure where all the six flags parks are)

so it went really good. we got some nice pictures and all this good stuff. ill post some when i upload them.

also about the line cutting rumors..turns out they were true! they were handing out these little cards that had your number in line so if you cut or got out of line you wouldnt be able to ride the ride (they had a sequential number on them to tell). I asked if the reason theyre doing it was the violent line cutting mumbo jumbo and an employee confirmed the rumor for me. nuts!

ps if anyone lives near this six flags, you gotta check out that new tatsu coaster. so awesome.

Thats not true! I live about 30 mins away, and have had a season pass for several years in a row. The girl and I go at least 3-4 times a month. They have been talking about selling the park for years to local housing developments, but there is still no word that its happening any time soon. They are just rumors. The city makes too much money from the park, and the local residents dont want more houses in that area due to over-population. The park is still making money, and dont plan to close down.

As for the gangs, I have never heard that. Did the park look like it was overrun with gangs? Not that ive seen. They always hand out those tickets for the big rides (X, Tatsu, Goliath, Scream, etc) to keep line-cutting down. They have been doing that since goliath opened (or maybe longer).

If that were a problem though, I'm sure they would bring in some kind of police force to stop them. They wouldn't just let gangs run the show and make them close it down, no way! That's why we have police.

I used to get club annual passes to Magic Mountain when I lived in Cali. Every year we would go, there would be more and more bangers that would show up, more and more fights that would break out. People got stabbed in line outside and had tickets stolen. You could smell people smoking speed. Cars get ransacked in the parking lot. Pissing in the corners of the park. There weren't even this many problems when they served beer at MM. Eventually, I got tired of not being able to look around and make eye contact with people, and watching my back in line and stopped going - along with most of my club (ACE) and friends

They can't afford to raise admission prices, otherwise no customers. They can't afford police 24/7 and the security at the park is a joke. You get in trouble, they say " Do you want to leave, or do you want us to call the cops?" (They caught us in the parking lot with beers and smoking a J once)Remember its still ~ 45 ish minutes from Los Angeles, its kind of in the middle of nowhere. I bet response time to a call is loooong.

Anyways, sucks its closing down, but totally makes sense - thought it would have been done years ago. Lots of good memories from there. KNAC Summer of Rock '84, we saw Motley Crue, Molly Hatchet, Great White, Quiet Riot - tons of bands that summer. Special private club-only parties, only a couple hundreed of us in the park. Halloween, the whole park was decorated, haunted houses, all the staff dressed up. Superman the ride launch party, I rode it 20 times in a row. Viper is THE best coaster I've ever been on, and I've been on plenty. I hope some of the coasters get relocated, it'd be a shame to lose them forever

Dude, wtf are you talking about? Valencia is not the middle of nowhere anymore, its a major fucking city. There is a police substation inside the park, and a major station right down the street. Unless Im missing something there isnt really a gang problem there. Sure, there are a few troublemakers, but thats to be expected.

And how is viper the best coaster youve ridden? That piece of shit gives me a headache every time I ride it.. Its creaky, rough, slow, and old. They need to retire that piece of shit before someone gets a major concussion.

The staff doesnt dress up on Halloween, that causes a saftey issue. They have "monsters" that come out dressed up, and certain areas of the park are decorated.

Look, the park IS being sold. Thats why ALL MERCHANDISE with the name Six Flags is being sold at half off. Did any of you notice that? And I went there on Halloween 2006 (4 months ago) and didn't see any of these gang shits. Although, they surely wouldn't do or say anything as Im a big dude, but never once was a number handed out. It wasn't that busy however.
