Assume I have 3-4 mother plants in soil, can I take trimmings and put them straight into this kind of aeroponic system (after using the correct cloning method)?
I will be using an Aeroflow2 aeroponic system.
I was going to build a plastic dome to place on top of the system after the clones are placed in so I can keep it humid. Spray and cover until I see the roots. Is this a good idea or should I get something separate like a clone machine to put my clones in? Not sure if I can go direct from cuttings to hydroton...if I use the hydroton, my guess is that I should use a gel so it stays on better/longer? How about germination trays with heated pads instead?
Media: Shall I put the clones into 1" rockwool cubes first and than place in hydroton? Or....should I forget about the hydroton all together and transplant into a larger rockwool cube?
Lights: I have 2 X 1000 HPS watters, I was going to use MH bulbs (convertible) for 24/24 VEG and switch the bulbs back to HPS when they are ready to flower. This way, the clones stay in the system and I don't have to transplant.
I have another 400 HPS with a MH bulb runs 18/24 that I am using for my mothers.
Does anything sound wrong with the set up? I have never used a system like this before, any tips, suggestions, or advice will be greatly appreciated. I have searched this board and many others and have had most of my questions answered, the questions above I could not find the answers to (I did some research before asking here to avoid wasting other peoples time).
Thanks in advance!
