Hello, I've successfully completed one grow so far. Time for another magnificent mission...I got a bunch of seedlings to come spawn, but I was wondering how I could ensure my chances of success higher.

When you guys seed em in rockwool, do you take pieces from the rockwool corners to cover the hole? do you make them very light or try to split them like a pizza so the seed comes through easier? Is it better to give the buried seed zero light or else it may stop trying to push to the top if it gets some? Is it better to bury them with a longer germized root (without dmging) so they have more struture and balance?

I've got some white widow seeds and I'd hate to lose em during the first stage...I haven't seen much information about this, sorry. Any hardcore suggestions would be awesome! Thanks

I have not had good luck with seeds in rockwool. Moisture problems and such. Rapid-rooters are MUCH better and still fit the plugs in rockwool blocks to put in a hydro system later, or just toss them in soil or coco.

IMO rw cubes and rapid rooters are for cuttings not seedlings, though some people will use them as such.Personally I germinate in a poist paper towel and sealed tupperware in a warm dark place and plant directly into ocean forest soil in 4 inch pots. Its important when they break the surface to keep the flo's as close as possible otherwise you'll get one hell of an initial stratch.A seedling will go through an initial stretch anyway, starting her with no light really maximizes that. Its good to leave an inch empty on top of the 4 inch pot so that when she stretches you can fill the container the rest of the way supporting the flegdling stalk. Its important to keep tube flo's like 1/4 inch above the tops, even brand new seedlings and clones, they lose their edge over HID's for small plants at around 2 inches

oh no problem man, i just wished there were mad seed scientists haha that knew how to create a perfect world, but...the world isn't perfect and...seeds are the least of worries probably <.<!

next time i do a seedling thing, i'll document everything with different settings n such. i appreciate your thought =)!

One thing I can tell you about rockwool,at least the 1 inch grodan cubes i use, they must be soaked for at least 24 hours in a 5.5 ph solution, they are incredibly high in ph out of the bag.I soak in water,Olivia's cloning solution and a shot of b'cuzz root. When I run out of b'cuzz I wont reup,it isn't needed.I love Olivia's though I think its mostly for clones.Seedlings wont thrive in a very alkaline ph either they really have to be soaked
