Well like I said to all of you the last time I tried growing and asking for help that I would be back.Well anyway's had so many guys put me down and insult me cause I posted pics of my first grow and asked questions on what to do and what to use that I turned out to be the laughing stock of the chatroom for awhile so I just took the plants and threw them into the garbage!.....But not this time.I started growing again and I have just one plant so I can see what it take's and what kind of real help I'll get from people on here this time?...I decided just because a few wannabee growers put me down for attempting to enjoy growing that at least I don't pretend to know what I'm doing.I'm a first time grower and I know I will need help along the way to truly be a good grower and that's why I'm here today to say thank you in advance for the help that the true growers on here will offer whenever I will need help and advice!....Anyway's here are a few pics of my plant that I just started to grow.....this plant just started as of March 14th,2007 hope u like it so far?...I know I'm happy

Don't ever let anyone put you down for asking questions. That is how we learn.
A good general guide for growing is
http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/94493-kps-cannabis-college-cannabis-issues-facts-guide.html
This will answer most beginner's questions.
If you have a problem or question ask me or any other experienced grower.
We will need to know what lighting you are using and what fertilizers or nutrients you are using.
Remember seedlings don't need fertilizers for the first few weeks, as it will burn them.
Good luck, do your research and ask if you have questions.

Good for you for trying again, but at the same time, you should always take everything said on the internet with a grain of salt. I've found that lots of people go online purely to be assholes, because they themselves don't have any self-confidence to be proud of, and can only feel good about themselves by deriding others.
So tell us about your grow!

thanx for the support folks, well here goes...these seeds were found inan OZ of WhiteRhino I had bought and I decide to try growing them again. This time I had them in a paper towel that I kept wet for 3days and then it sprouted and then I put into potting soil and then another 3days went by and this is what I have!...I'm doing an experiment with this plant. From sunrise it is placed in my window till sundown and then in a dark corner with no light what so ever for about 11hrs and it seem's to be going great!!!!!!!...Looking foward to how this method will workout for me?...I still have another 15 seeds just incase this doesn't workout....LOL....like I said I'm new and just want to see if I have a green thumb for growing and if I do well lookout cause the others will be awsome..LOL......here are some better pics I took of my plant today....remember this is just day 6 of the growing process and thanx to all for the future advice and encouragement you give me!!!!!!

I started my first grow (which i'm currently on) the same way, but I quickly found that I had to get serious about an indoor grow "system", if I was going to get any sort of yield from the plants. Also found that starting them off growing in the window somewhat stunted their growth, as now they're kinda short, but really thick and full. I'd have liked them to have grown taller, but I'm LSTing them anyway, so maybe I'm wishing for something i didn't really want...
I let them sun grow for about two weeks, and two of them got to be pretty large (for seedlings), but they I don't think they would have grown into something budworthy. Maybe you can do better, but I definately couldn't have.
You might want to invest in a rubbermaid tub growbox setup or the like. it's not THAT expensive to get a decent growbox together, and i think in the long run you'll be much happier for it.
Whatever you choose to do though, good luck and enjoy!

Thanks Primus I'll look into that and see what I prefer?....Like I said this one is just an experimental plant and if everything work's out good, then I'll get semi-hightech LOL.....wish you luck on your grow

Ok folks,How do I stop it from stretching so much?....I'de like to see it start to leaf out....does it take a long time for it to start leafing out?....so what should be my next step to do?......and when should I start using nutes?
Primus
03-21-2007, 08:25 PM
it's going to stretch quite a bit if it's only source of light is daylight. With mine it took about a week and a half until I started seeing nodes. You'll probably have to stake it to keep it upright too, because a lot of the plant's energy is being put towards growing upward (to find light) rather than outward. The only real way to stop it from stretching is to give it some artificial light.
As far as when to start using nutes, you should probably hold off for a while until you start to see some side branches, and then only use nutes at a very weak strength, like 1/8 normal dose.
I hope that helps.

sorry, i'm lazy; what lights are you using?
i would repot and bury up to the cotyledons (bean leaves) and put some ge daylight flouro's right on top of it (like less than an inch). these bulbs are cool, litterally, and won't burn. that will stop your stretch.
you can find a double shoplight and two ge daylight bulbs for under twenty bucks...
hope that helps, and i'll try to keep up with you for guidance, if you need me.

Ummm, I am a bit new to the horticulture scene, but wouldn't it be a bit early to repot. With the pictures posted, if he repots up to coytolyns now there won't be much above the dirt, coupled with the potential for transplant stress, I think it may be a little pre-mature to transplant..... Perhaps after 2-3 sets of leaves??? Check out the Grow FAQS there is a guide to transplanting...that is basically how I do it , minus the rooting hormones.
I agree with the lighting issue....I would get at least 1 good, cool, CFL (43 watt) about 1-2 inches above your girl (positive thinking)....I use a cheap spot light fixture for seedlings. (see picture)
Start thinking about what you want to use for lighting once she gets bigger...floros work good for beginers and can produce decent results.
Good luck.

Hey northern guy, think what you did with the plants was perfect, the portion of stem that you put dirt over will eventually start to shoot off roots and as long as you got decent lighting close to her the streching should be minimized. Keep in mind genetics will play a role in how it grows and if it is a sativa it will want to grow tall and slender with narrow leaves, Indica will tend to be short and bushy with fat leaves. I think white rhino is a 80/20 mix Indica dominant (too lazy to look it up now).
It will seem slow at first but in 2 weeks you'll be seeing a good growth rate (it is a "weed" after all).
Now, take this with a grain of salt, but i think your sidebar approach to the ladies seems a little creepy. Just my opinion.

I'm not even going to touch that boss/wife/gf bullshit. Some of y'all need some guidance. Didja ever notice that I hardly ever bitch about my old man? That's cause he comes correct on the regular. I don't have to tell him what to do. He's right from the get go.
On to the cannabis...
I'd like to echo Scarlet's post, and say also that I've found it helpful to put a fan on the seedlings. Not gale force, just enough of a breeze to ruffle their leaves. It makes for good strong stems that don't need staking. Failing that (lack of funding or whatever) when you are caring for them, blow on them and wiggle them a bit. You know, touch them. If they were growing outdoors, they'd be getting breezes, and squirrels and shit would be brushing them as they ran past. Give them some plant exercise.

Very nice Orangeman!....I seem to have run into a little prob?....seem's that my leaves are turning brown?......but yet they are still growing just fine?....wonder what is going on?....I seem to have fix the prob by giving my plant some extra light time and it seem's to be working but I'm still puzzled about them turning brown since I didn't see any spider mites or any other bugs on it?

hmmm thats what i was gonna say, you said you have more seeds plant them and keep them at least as you litle secondary plants, i know you said you want to ocncentrate on one plant or whatever but do that with two emergency plants growing, for your own sake!!!
I planted one last year and it was like my wicked first plant than a day later i planted two more, one of the 2 more died in seedling stage (light accident :S) and the other two grew up well and nice and good and they where these buetiful plants but the one i was rooting for like proper cared about was male!! :O :( and the other emergency one was female so i was lucky but to think if i hadnt doen that all that summer of growing would have been so pointless and crap (well maybe not that bad but not as good as it was when i was smoking my own produce :D :D :D :D which by the way is the best higgh ever...)
