light question

i am planning on investing in a hid light.. but i have a few questions.. about how much heat would a 250 hps throw??
and in a small closet.. only 2 1/2' x 4' x 6' would the yeild off a 150 hps be substantially smaller then a yeild off a 250(from a max of 2 plants in flower at a time).. obviously i know that a 250 would get me more yeild.. but the 150s are cheaper to buy cheaper to run and wont throw as much heat.. so which would be better in my situation... any input is GREATLY APPRECIATED....:D

It matters how you look at it really....you're going to run into basically the same issues with either one (venting obviously one)...are you going to be dissatisfied you got the smaller one after you worked all the kinks out? You may want to plan your whole set up, and look at the total cost as a whole....I'd ask myself 'is a few ounces of primo bud you grew yourself worth that thirty dollars you saved in the beginning'?

I guess I'm a bigger is better type! lol....

Not to mention that 150's do not penetrate very far into the canopy at all. I used my (now) mommy box to flower when I started - 30"x16"x59", 2 plants, 150WHPS and 70WMH (220 W total) and anything beneath the top ~6-8 inches or so was real fluffy. total yield off 2 plants averaged ~ 3-4 oz. A single 250W HPS would have penetrated much better, and been less heat to deal with and probably could have gotten closer to 6+ oz per harvest with training/lst or a SCRoG/SoG grow

well thanx alot guys/gals.. i guess i'll be goin with the 250 .. i have a cfl grow goin now.. but want better results... venting wont be much of an issue.. i thought the same thing.. but now im positive.. i think i have lsting and topping down pat..
