growing is so hard. if its not one deficiancy its another. i hate trying to play guessing games, like maybe i should add some of this or some of that. i think im just going to plant one seed at a time grow it out no matter if its male or female and just try and work out all the bugs. ive finished one crop and it was o.k. for first time. dense buds no crystel content. now all of a sudden ive got one for sure and maybe another dead and dying of root rot. im actually thinking about adding a few river rocks to pots to help with drainage. still trying to find best ferts. now just switched to canna on recomendation from the shop. so hope that helps. sometime i wonder if this is all worth it. but i really enjoy gardening and i want so bad to grow something nobodys ever seen. so for now i will keep trying, cause i know it takes time.;) :(

Growing isn't hard at all. It just takes some simple understanding. :)

Germination requires no fert., so don't use it.

Vegetative, when the lights are on 18/6, you use a fert. where the first number is higher than the last two numbers, for example: 5-1-1.(N-P-K). You need something high in Nitrogen for this stage to avoid yellowing. Follow the directions on the bottle and don't overfeed. Remeber, it's better to underfeed than over feed.

Flowering cycle requires the middle number (N-P-K) to be higher than the first number, and the last number to be either higher, or the same as the first number For example: 10-15-10, or 15-30-15. To avoid yellowing, follow the directions on the bottle of food and don't overfeed.

To avoid root rot, you just have to give the plant(s) big enough containers to thrive in.

So it's all just a simple understanding, but I see what you're saying. It can be tricky sometimes, but some strains are easier to grow than others as well, so I suggest you find a easy growing strain until you get the hang of things.

You'll get the hang of it, but if you're just learning, do only a few plants instead of a handful of them. Easier to maintain and understand. :) and if you've only done one grow so far, well of course you don't have it down yet. It took me like 3 grows to finally get a harvest.

One really must "follow the book" at least until one is comfortable with the plant and knows its tricks. Most beginners' probs arise with watering and fertilizing. Watering should be done only as needed and not by a set schedule and ferts should be used with caution and never at amounts listed on directions. Most ferts are made for outdoor gardens or houseplants and adjustments are needed to use them for cannabis. As long as fresh, quality potting soil is used there will be no need for adding any trace elements or anything beyond quality ferts and maybe a food/hormone additive such as "Dark Energy" or the like (and water of course). But in general, most problems are caused by the gardener giving their plants too much love and attention.
