Just a quick question...while the plants are in a seedling and vegetative state, do I need to have 100% total darkness at "night"? The plants are on a timer now, and are getting about 20/4.
Also, does anyone think that I should consider going 24-hours a day?

These is just bag seeds, but the original schwag had potential. I'm doing this as a sort of dry run. In the fall I want to do a serious, all-out grow inside a walk-in closet in my soon-to-be-new apartment...No corners cut or cheapness...

I still want for the best for this grow... Going to give it my all until may, and then the plants will probably get a really long veg time over the summer. I'll flower in august if the plants survive 3 months with my roomate...

Thanks...

...you need to study a complete grow guide or all the FAQ's...then all questions will be answered...while you are waiting...

...I do not just say this...to put you off....you need to know the steps in advance....it's hard to just "wing it"..:)....comprende?.....

...ps.....growing in rental property?...bad ju-ju juana.....

I'm the cheapest so and so on the planet, but one thing I don't skimp on is doing whatever is in my power. This means make sure it's DARK when it's dark time. HOWEVER, opinions vary, but you can do 24/0. I did, lots of people do. But if you're going to have a dark period, make it dark. I already said that didn't I LOL? Wake and bake is bad for you.

no, I understand all the steps...I was just unsure of the plants requiring actual total darkness or just no lights and a dark room for the veg cycle. Thanks

you want complete darkness on the off times or you risk running into hermie plants, which is bad.

I used to do 24/0 for clones/seeds but have swithched to 18/6 and find it to be better.

Hmm my timer screwed up last night (only the 1st night w/a timer, 4 days old now) but I'll try to light proof...I'm doing 20/4 right now...sound ok?

Believe it or not, 5 of these guys were popped in the ground friday night, and sprouted early saturday evening. The biggest and another are actually a day older...But they count, as my roomate tried to grow and nearly killed them...I managed to save 2, and they are now in the grow box. took these on the world's shittiest camera too. so today they turn 4.
I may try to start a grow thread, but I might just wait until the august grow...heh

20/4 is ok, 18/6 is better some believe. Its kinda up to you to destiquish for yourself. I like 18/6 then 12/12 its more natural, although more like 15/9 might be a more better natural time perdiod but i dont think it works as well.
