Hey all,

This is my Very 1st grow and would really like some advice on how my plant is looking and doing?!

I planted 5 Northern Light seeds and only only has germinated...hummmm,
It is now on it's 3rd week of life!! Is it possible by one of you expert growers out there to tell if this plant is male of female or is it just way too early to tell yet!

Yea, man. That one looks good to me. You're probably gonna have to re-pot her soon and I'd fill the soil up to about a 5mm past the cotyledons (seed leaves). Otherwise, looking good. :D Any new updates?

Hey thanks for all your top quality advice guys, i really appreciate it!
Sorry it's taken nearly a week to reply was smoking some top bud in Amsterdam - lol!!!
Anyway just want to say SHE (i soo hope) is still alive and seems to be doing great soo far!!! The lights i have are 100w flourescent and the soil im using was from a grow shop, (not sure of the name) she was repotted last Thursday and on Monday i add a small amount of nuturients to her (see pic)! I keep waiting to see her white pubes but no lucky so far! Anyway all advice and help would be more than appreciated! Happy toking, PeAcE :hippy:

Hi all,

just a quick question to all you experts out there...

How many times does my plant need fertalizing? Is it once a week with ferts then the other week just water?? I am a little confused and dont want to give her too much of the good stuff!!!

I have only done this ONCE, last Wednesday, and used the bottle of ferts in the pic! She (i hope still) is at the start of her 5th week now!

what i do is 2-3 waterings of water, 1 of fert. i water once every 3 days. so its about one fert per week. i think this is ok. IMO you shouldnt believe that giving the plants will bulk up buds or anything. i think its to keep the plant healthy and able to make buds. ofcourse there is a little bit of the other too but not all about that. :)

in your case veg state i havent given per 3 weeks and i noticed the oldest leaves going yellow and brown spotting and the plants are crying for ferts so i am using on them 1 water 1 fert.. just try to look at your plants and learn from how they act and adapt to it i guess is the best thing.

mikee i have used cann nutes for a few years now and the canna grow chart is based on ro water so if you are using tap water make sure you leave it sitting for at least 24 hours to remove the fluoride as it affects the plants worst than normal when using canna.Are you using any of the additives like ritzotonic or zym?I use the ferts once week starting with a ppm of 200 building up to 850ppm in veg but again this can be strain dependant.Less is best with canna nutes as they can burn some strains with higher ppm but ive never had nute burn or deficiency in soil grows keeping within this ppm range with canna.By the way the plant looks good just keep doing what you are doing.be safe the postman.

Hey people, thanks for all your top advice and tips and a BIG thanks to postman dave great advice about the cann nutes, she seems to love it!!

Well This is week 5 from seed and i have repotted her as the roots started to come through my previous pot.... (STILL WAITING 4 THOSE WHITE PUBES!! - LOL) Gave her a good feeding with some cann nutes and a little water! Here are photos of her today... is it possible to tell the sex yet or should i just keep waiting, all of your expert advice and help is soooooo appreciated!! thanks guys, will keep you all posted with pics!! Hey all well this is the start of week 6 and this morning i have found 2 very tiny hairs on either side of the 7th node....yipeeeeee at last!!!!!!

Well i kind of need some advice now....
As she has started to show her sex, when is the ideal time to start my 12/12 cycle? How much longer would you veg her for and how much bigger would i expect her to get during the flowering process??

Also... as you can see from the pics (the one with leaf) looks kind of shitty! I have had a couple that are doing that and now the new baby leaf at the top of her is the same, it looks kind of burnt arount the edge and deformed and then grows like the one in the pic with the circles around it, so i was wondering if this is a case of me burning the roots with too much nutes, causing fucked up growth in new leaves? Any advice would be really cool! Happy toking and i will keep you updated with more pics and news soon! Hey postman and tomthehippy would it be cool to get in contact some how with you both or mail me? Just moved to Holland and would love some advice about living here!! :hippy:

well done dude, you aint burnt her,that looks like a animal bite cat etc...... when you flower she will get 2-3times bigger so you can flower when you want depending on the size of your room,well done keep the good work going and if your using canna dont forget to use there canna bud boost.peace:thumbsup:

That isn't a nibble. You did that yourself moving your plant around and accidentally ripping an edge of a leaf. Happens all the time, lol.

Hey all,

Well i have run into some sort of trouble and need some expert advice from you guys as i can't find anything out there on the net!!!

The problem is...:stoned:

For the last week or so i have been taking her out and leaving her on the window where the sun has been shining on her all day, lots of ventaltion and the weather has been ideal, so i thought!!! By the end of the day she looked like picture two, what the fuck!!!!!!
If i put her back under the 100W flo light she is back to her self about 4 hours later... WHY, WHY DOES SHE DO THIS?
This has happened the last 3 days now.... why do all her leaves just got limp, sunlight? Heat? moving condtions? Any advice would be appreciated, i know you can help!!!!! Happy Toking :jointsmile:

Thanks Bree i thought she was but just dont understand why?
I mean surley the sun would be better for her than my 100w flourecent light... or not and also the outdoor temperture being at a nice 29/30C would be ideal! I put her outside for a few hours and had the same result, put her under the light again an within an hour she was fine!!! :thumbsup:

Well i guess i will keep her under that light from now on, really dont want a LADY-BOY !!! LOL :) Laters... :hippy:

I'd imagine it is like changing bulbs in a tanning bed....when they are new and bright, they burn the hell out of you. When they are old and weak, you can generally stay in there longer. But the other enviromental factors may play a part as well...temp (you said it was good outside but it's still different than your indoor), and humidity..which is obviously going to be different outside than in.
Really I don't know the exact cause, just know that she don't like! lol.

Yeah...think your right, i will repot her in the next few days, no roots have come through the bottom so i though she would be ok for a while, thanks for the advice!!! What size would be ideal to last, as i have start to flower her now?

I am using Canna nutes (growth and bloom) and have been since the 3rd or 4th week, didnt really noticed a nute problem, but i will defently keep my eyes on it now you mentioned it!! Thanks dude :stoned:

so i went to the grow shop yesterday and got a better pot for her to live in, hope it's big enough as the guy said it was the biggest they have and would do fine!! Got some more cannabis soil and repotted her...

iblodro4220: didnt really shake much of the soil off as she just came out of the old pot quite easy, think watering her the day before might have helped also! Not sure about Q 2? Man you will have to ask some of these expert growers on this forum and they will point you in the right direction!!! Hi guys, look good soon as shes two weeks in two flower pump her full of boost, she will love it,,, not too sure about soil growing, cus im a hydro grower,, but can tell ya some thing the Canna range of nuts are top class nuts,, And dont for get the PK 13/14, This is my first ever grow,, i have only done it thanks too you guys on here.... no shit....
Grown with aqua veg, two weeks in too flower and then aqua bloom and the boost and then PK

hey Clu33er didnt manage to get any bud boost, so have just been using the canna nutes growth and bloom! Hopefully will get some for my next grow!!

Hey Tom, been watering her about every 2-3 days, not sure if i should cut back on that alittle now, but she seems to be drinking it quick!!! Cut a few of the lower fan leaved to help get light to the lower buds?? Also should i not give her any more of the Canna nutes? She's 6 nearly 7 weeks into flower, i have had her on 11/13 for about 3 weeks now, i read that this will make the flowering process longer by 10% - 25%??? So if thats the case i hope to Havest her in about 2-3 weeks? Please tell me if im wrong on this, keep looking at the Trichromes but hard as i dont have a great magnifying glass! Week 7 into flowering, maybe next week i should harvest???!!!

I have claw leaves going on with her so have flushed her with water this morning??? Also was wondering before i do, would it be possible to take a cutting from one of the lower branches as this has not produced much bud (see pic) Cheers guys and girls!!

Hey people...

could do with some advice....

As you can see from the tread, she is close to harvest and i have been having this trouble with her leaves for just over a week now, she looks like she is dying BIG time, the leaves a very droopy, and big claws that seem to get worse!! I water here like ever 2-3 days as the soil dries quick!
Yesterday i gave her a good flush of water thinking this might help, same result! Also drilled some holes in the pot to help with the air.. shit i dont know??? Is this normal towards the end of flowering and she's telling me it time to cut her down, any advice would be appreciated!! :) Still havent got a good microscope so see the tric's is hard!!

Well here she is this morning, 8 weeks old!! I dont have a lots of amber Trics yet so think another week will do her and i also noticed that the buds in the last few days have really grown and she is starting to smell so sweet!!!! Leaves are still screwed and they have major hook claws going on, flushed her a few times now, but as i'm close to the end i'm not too worried! Keep you updated and thanks for all your advice out there, getting excited about my second grow now and i have learnt soo much form the site, cheers guys and girls!!! Happy toking... new pics soo, cant wait to blaze this baby!!! :stoned:

Just a few questions so i know more for my next grow that i will be starting soon!

Her leaves are really getting bad now and this morning i noticed all of these yellow spots on her, it looks like it's getting worse as the day goes on and looks like she is really dying now! At the bottom of the plant the leaves are turning brown/black and just look fucked and wilted!!! Is this nutes lock out or just Normal behaviour toward the end of flowering? Havent given her any nutes for the last week so could it be that? I have looked at the different deficiencies, but not sure if these still count when soo close to harvest - her trics are still not that amber? happy toking :rasta:

IA, leave her alone and don't water too much.....the hooked leaves is probably because she is rootbound (also like Tomthehippie said). Be patient, you are in the home stretch.

hey tom i have a ? for the amber part say u don't wait till it turns amber what would happen if u cut it and went from there would it lose potency??why the amber what does it do to it by it being amber? hope the ? was clear

Hey peeps,

Well thanks for all your advice and tips could'nt have done it with out ya!!

The leaf problem sort of got worse, i do think it was down to too much water as i was flushing her in that final week! Anyway i cut her down last Friday night, this is the end result!
Unsure of the weight yet but will let you guys know! Thanks for all your help peeps, i'm starting my next grow soon and have learnt soo much for this one... keep you all updated!!! HAPPY TOKING!! :stoned:
